The Kiva Classic is more than squash. All entrants and their guests are invited to the social events.
Parties and receptions
Wednesday, Dec. 3. Welcome cocktail party with hors d’oeuvres at the home of a club member. Dress is business casual.
Thursday, Dec. 4. Buffet dinner at the club. Casual dress.
Friday, Dec. 5. Cocktails, appetizers and a sit-down dinner at the Gerald Peters Gallery. Dress is business casual.
Saturday, Dec. 6. Buffet dinner at the club during the final matches. Casual dress. Note that the consolation finals are held Sunday morning.
There are also the usual breakfasts and lunches at the club throughout the tournament.
Friday afternoon hike
Doug Campbell, a Kiva member and professional hiking guide, will lead an easy hike in the Santa Fe foothills. This short two-mile walk takes about an hour and offers great views.
We depart from the club at 2 p.m. The drive to the trailhead takes about 10 minutes. Doug can fit one person in his car, so others will need to carpool.
Wear warm layers and appropriate footwear, either walking shoes or hiking boots. If the weather turns nasty the hike may be cancelled or shifted to an in-town walk.
