2019 Kiva Club Open and Taco Tournament
Sept. 19 to Sept. 23, 2019
The fifth-annual Kiva Club Open will be held at the Kiva Club in Santa Fe, New Mexico, from Sept. 19 through 22, 2019.
The tournament is a combination professional singles tournament (the Kiva Club Open) and an amateur doubles and singles tournament (the Taco Tournament). The amateur tournament, which is sanctioned by US Squash, is open to singles and doubles players by skill level as follows: SINGLES: 5.5, 4.5, 3.5. HARDBALL SINGLES: A, B, C. DOUBLES: A, B, C. Note that while male and female amateurs are welcome to enter, there are no separate draws for men and women. The tournament is gender-neutral; all play in the same skill-level draws. The professional draw is open to all Professional Squash Association members, and is sanctioned by the PSA. Professional play will begin on Thursday, Sept. 19, and conclude on Sunday, Sept. 22. Amateur play will begin on Friday, Sept. 20, and conclude on Sunday, Sept. 22. Because of limited court space, amateur entries will be limited on a first-come, first-served basis, and Red and Green Chile sponsors will be given priority. All entrants are allowed to enter two divisions in each category. This means, for instance, if you are a B singles player, you also can enter the A division and "play up." You also can play in two doubles divisions with different partners. SOCIAL EVENTS: All entrants are invited to casual suppers at the club on Friday and Saturday, plus lunches, beverages and snacks during the tournament. ENTRY FEES: The amateur tournament costs $85 to enter at the basic level. The amateur tournament is sanctioned by US Squash. If you are not a member of US Squash, there's an additional $15 entry fee. Sponsors at the Red ($250) or Green ($500) Chile levels will be given priority in any draw they enter. Court time is limited, so other entries are on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry fees will be collected by credit card via an emailed invoice after you fill out the registration form. |
